About The College

Shreerang Education Society’s Shreerang Vidyalaya English Medium and Junior College of Science and Commerce is run by the Trustees of Shreerang Education Society, who have devoted themselves for the cause of education and social reforms. The college is committed to promote and encourage quality education with excellence. The mission of the college is ‘All round development of the students’. Junior college is offering Commerce and Science streams. College is looking forward to inclusion of bifocal subjects like Computer Science and Banking along with additional subject of I.T.

Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities of varied nature are also given equal importance for achieving all round development of the pupils.

XI & XII – Commerce and Science

+ 2 is a two year course. The two years are spread over 4 semesters i.e. each year has two semesters.

Eligibility

1. A candidate being eligible for admission to the +2 Junior College (Std XI & XII) must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (Std X) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

OR

2. Must have passed in examination of another board or body recognized as equivalent to Secondary School Certificate (Std X) Examination.

Attendance

a) As per the MSS & HSC Board’s Regulation No:88 (i), a student is required to keep 75% attendance in each term, in each subject. The students are required to keep 75% attendance at the lectures delivered in the first term and the second term separately. The deficiency up to 15% can be condoned by the Board on special medical grounds (supported by a medical certificate within reasonable time limit) as per the recommendations of the Principal.The students failing to fulfill the required attendance shall be DETAINED and shall not be permitted to appear for the Board Examination.

b) Absence on medical grounds should be supported by a medical certificate or by satisfactory reason/evidence in case of non-medical grounds.Application in all such cases must reach the Principal within 3 days of such absence and the student shall report to the Principal immediately on resumption.

c) In case of students of science faculty, the term or terms shall not be granted unless the students produces laboratory journal in science subjects duly certified by respective heads/in-charge of science departments at the end of the term.

[Students of both faculties should submit all Journals, Project books and Assignments within stipulated time frame for promotion to next class]

d) Parents of students are requested to kindly contact the teacher in charge of the class, Head of the department or the Principal at least once in a semester or during Open days to keep themselves abreast with their ward’s attendance and progress.

IDENTITY CARD AND JACKET

a) A student should wear or display the Identity Card and wear the College Jacket at all times or else a fine of Rs. 50 will be imposed.

b) The identity card must have the student’s photograph affixed with the Principal’s signature stamp on it, failing which, the card will be deemed as invalid.

c) A student has to produce the Identity Card for inspection, whenever demanded.

d) Students not carrying valid Identity Card may be refused entry into college premises.

e) In case the Identity Card is lost/spoilt, duplicate Identity Card will be issued on request after collecting a fine of Rs. 100/-

DRESS CODE

a) Students are required to dress decently and modestly, when they come to college. Students whose dress does not agree with the code prescribed by the college will be denied entry to the college campus. Short tops over jeans, low waist jeans and three fourths will not be permitted. No headgear shall be permitted.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY

The college respects all religions; however no concession will be given for participation in any type of religious activities during the college hours.

MOBILE PHONES/I-PODS/MUSIC SYSTEM OR SIMILAR GADGETS

Under no circumstances, students should use mobiles in the lecture hall, laboratory, classroom, examination hall, reading room, library, college building and corridors. A student carrying/using mobile phone will be fined Rs.1000/- and the confiscated cell phones will be returned only after payment of the fine.

LIBRARY DETAILS

Library books will be issued to students on payment of library fees and producing library card and student’s ID card. Library books will be issued for seven days only. If the seventh day is a holiday, library books should be returned on the very next day of the holiday. If library books are not returned within seven days students will be fined Rs. 10/- per day. Library books should be handled very carefully, if torn or damaged, students will have to pay full amount of the books.

Activities

  1. Different days are celebrated like Traditional Day etc. through out the year and a week before the Annual Social.
  2. Co-curricular activities – Elocution, Mad over Ad, Debate, Skit.
  3. Projects on all cultural events and festivals of India along with celebration of anniversaries of freedom fighters and great personalities of India and on current events.
  4. Educational Tour, Picnic, I.V visit, Sports week, Annual Gathering ,Annual Social, Send off Programme.
  5. Coaches in Cricket, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis and Basket Ball to coach students.
  6. Participation in National Children Science Congress and other prestigious inter college events like Technovanza, RYLA etc.

PROPOSED For 2017/2018 –

  1. N.C.C Cadet’s Training, NSS programmes, Fully fledged Gymkhana,Canteen facilities, Inter College Festival, Fun and Fair.

WORK SCHEDULE OF THE COLLEGE

Lectures and tutorials are arranged between 11.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. The college administrative office functions between 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. However, changes in these timings for the sake of convenience of all concerned may be made with due notice to that effect during events.

CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION

The student is required to make an application in writing to the Principal of the college together with the original fee receipt for cancellation of admission.

FEES DEPOSIT

1. All the students have to pay fees as per the college rules at the time of admission.

2. Refund of fees will be done as per college rules.

3. Deposit will not be refunded if the dues to the college by the student on account of damage done to any college property, loss of library books, etc. are not cleared.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The college has big spacious classrooms with sufficient light and ventilation. The college is well equipped with library, science laboratory and girls room.

DISCIPLINE

All students must observe the rules and regulations enforced at present or that may hereafter be made for the smooth functioning of the college. Students shall not do anything inside or outside the college that will interfere with its orderly administration and discipline.

USE OF UNFAIR MEANS AT THE EXAMINATION

Students if found guilty using unfair means during the examinations will immediately attract attention as per the board categories of Malpractices Act and face punishment as per rules.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Every student of the college must carry the identity card issued by the college and produce the same as and when asked by the college. No student will be allowed to attend classes or library without their identity card. Students will not be allowed inside Laboratory without proper white apron.
  2. Students shall attend lectures, tutorials and seminars according to the time-table on all the working days. They cannot abstain themselves from lectures, tutorials, seminars and examination without prior permission of the Principal. Absence without prior leave may result in loss of semester. A student has to complete to the satisfaction of the Principal the course of study prescribed. Students are warned if their attendance at lectures, tutorials etc. are unsatisfactory, they will be detained. If the students attendance is poor or unsatisfactory in the first term, the college reserves its right to cancel admission of such students and not admit them in the second term.
  3. In case of illness, a student shall apply for leave as soon as possible with a doctor’s certificate attached to the application and submit it to the Principal.
  4. Term will not be granted if the attendance and performance in the examination and tests is not satisfactory.
  5. Students must observe proper decorum in the classes and should take utmost care not to disturb the working of their own classes as well as other classes.
  6. Students should read notices on the notice board daily.
  7. Students are not allowed to loiter in the corridor and the college campus.
  8. No money will be collected for any purpose without the permission of the Principal nor will any Society or Association be formed in the college.
  9. The students are not allowed to take part in any prejudicial activity.
  10. A teacher conducting a class at a given time should take absolute control of the class and take appropriate action in order to maintain discipline in the class.
  11. Every student should take utmost care of the college property and try to keep the college premises clean. Any damage done to the college building, furniture and fixtures by the students shall be treated as a breach of discipline and appropriate fines would be collected.
  12. The students are requested to take care of their property. The college authorities are not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings.
